Car giant Ford is in talks with the Changan Automobile Group to build a passenger car in China, say U.S. media reports (3/8/00).
Quoting auto analysts, the reports suggest Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford is to build a vehicle based on its compact four-door Ikon model created for the Indian market.

The proposed vehicle would be larger than Changan`s Alto model say the reports, but would be within the reach of China`s new private buyers.
