The Ford Focus model has become – according to Ford – the world`s best-selling car after a little over a year-and-a-half in production, reports Associated Press (24/7/00).

The company sold around 228,000 within the period from December through to April in about 60 countries, outselling the previous top-selling car – the VW Golf – by 24,000. Since the month of April, Ford also increased North American production, with the company rolling off its millionth Focus in June, in Cologne, Germany.
