The report says that carmakers are expected to report a slight drop in light vehicle sales to a seasonally-adjusted annual rate (SAAR) between 16.1 million and 16.4 million vehicles, down from 16.5 million in February last year.
Reuters surveyed a number of analysts who nevertheless said that they expected the February SAAR to be above the 16.1 million level recorded in January. Analysts said that January’s crash was determined largely by high incentives and an inflated market in December.
The US light vehicle February market numbers will be reported by the carmakers on Monday March 3.
