A group of leading automotive suppliers has successfully concluded its joint studies of business-to-business Internet- enabled technologies.

“Through this collaborative exploration, we gained a better understanding of this new technology and how to use it to work most effectively with our respective customers,” said Kevin Moyer, vice president and director of e- business at Dana, speaking on behalf of the participating suppliers. “Each company will use this knowledge to enhance its own technical capabilities and complement the endeavors of its customers.”

As a result of these studies, each participating company has gained extensive knowledge about supply chain management and how to more effectively support the e-business efforts of its customers, including the aftermarket segment. Additional findings included how to improve competitiveness by increasing speed and responsiveness, and how to reduce costs at all levels of the value chain. Each company is now pursuing its own respective approach to e-business.

The suppliers included in the studies were Dana Corporation (NYSE: DCN), Delphi Automotive Systems Corporation (NYSE: DPH), Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN), Robert Bosch Corporation, Tenneco Automotive (NYSE: TEN), The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR), TRW Inc. (NYSE: TRW) and Valeo (PA: VLOF).
