Delphi’s Packard Electric division will design and supply Ford the electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture system, including wiring harnesses and the associated componentry for the vehicle.

“This latest new business growth with Ford strengthens the diversity of Delphi’s customer portfolio, and demonstrates Delphi’s ability to provide high-technology, integrated systems solutions competitively for its customers,” said Nick Cassudakis, manager, sales and engineering, Delphi Packard Electric.

Engineers at Delphi’s customer service center in Dearborn, Mich., are developing a system that takes full advantage of Delphi’s E/E components, subsystems and systems integration capabilities. The design will utilize Delphi’s patented flexible routed-wire bussed electrical system to reduce wire gage sizes, mass, and the overall number of splices and cut leads. The design also utilizes Delphi Delco Electronics Systems’ smart junction box.
