Delphi’s diesel common rail system for direct injection engines provides fuel economy improvements and is considered to be a major building block to bring the advantages of diesel engines to a wider base of consumers.
Diesel common rail will bring significant benefits in fuel economy, torque, noise and emissions through a unique accelerometer pilot control (APC) strategy, which measures the combustion event in each cylinder. Customers for the technology will be announced at a later date.
At Mondial, customers will see how Delphi is globally positioned with a full line of diesel engine management systems, including air, fuel and exhaust aftertreatment.
