Champion Parts has reported second quarter net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2002 of $US377,000, or $0.10 per share, compared to $175,000, or $0.05 per share for the same period in 2001. Net sales increased to $7,156,000, versus $5,269,000 for the comparable period in 2001.
For the six months of 2002, the company reported net sales of $13,996,000, compared to $11,365,000 for the same period last year. Net income was $114,000, or $0.03 per share for the six months, compared to $242,000, or $0.07 per share for the same period in 2001.
“The second quarter sales increase of 35.8% primarily reflects the addition of the air conditioning compressor product lines,” said president and chief executive officer Jerry Bragiel.
Champion Parts remanufactures fuel system components, front wheel drive assemblies, and electrical and mechanical products for the passenger car and light truck, agricultural, heavy-duty truck and marine parts aftermarket.
