Toyota will boost the output of V6 engines at its US plant in Alabama by 2.5 times.
The move is in line with the automaker’s decision to terminate the production of the Highlander SUV in Japan and transfer all output to the US, Jiji Press reported.

Toyota will spend US$80m expanding the plant to start production of the 3.5-litre V6 2GR engine in March 2014.
Annual engine manufacturing capacity will rise to 362,000 units from 146,000 units and 125 jobs will be newly created.
