After recalling millions of cars in recent years, Toyota’s US unit has announced once of its smallest recalls yet – just 74 units in a “voluntary safety recall” involving 2012 Yaris models.
In affected vehicles, a relay in the control module of the electronic power steering system could experience a short circuit due to insufficient distances between terminals in the relay and moisture contamination of relay coil windings, Toyota said.

This could cause a loss of power steering assist, resulting in increased steering effort at low speeds.
A warning light should illuminate and a buzzer will sound.
Owners of vehicles subject to this recall will receive a notification by mail; dealers will replaceme control modules.
