Pittsburgh Glass Works (PPG) said continued increased demand for automotive glass products had prompted it to spend US$85m converting a 416,000 sq ft site in Elkin, North Carolina into a new factory opening in 2012 and employing about 260 people.
The plant will produce automotive glass products for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and the aftermarket.
