Porsche Cars North America saw sales in 2011 climb by 15% to 29,000 units, the company reported, mostly thanks to a 56% increase in Cayenne SUV sales to nearly 13,000, up from 8,300 in 2010.
CEO Detlev von Platen described the result as “a very positive step forward” that will give the company momentum going into 2012 alonh with the launch of the seventh generation 911 and a new Boxster, among other models.
The new 911 goes on sale next month but that didn’t stop 2011 sales climbing 5% to 6,000 units from 5,700 in 2010.
