Pittsburgh Glass Works said it would reopen its factory in Evart, Michigan due to increased demand for automotive glass products.

The plant was originally purchased from Chrysler Corporation in 1998 by PPG Industries PGW purchased PPG – Automotive Glass in September 2008 and decided to close Evart in 2009 due to excess capacity.

However, it will now start work at the plant immediately and expects to begin production by the end of the third quarter. The Evart plant will produce OEM tempered side windows.
