The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer GM will launch at the 2011 Dubai motor show probably won’t be sold in the US but has apprently not been ruled out entirely.

The new SUV will be based on the Chevy Colorado one-tonne pickup truck platform introduced first in Thailand and that will go to the US.

GM told Inside Line, “[The] Trailblazer will be sold in Thailand followed by some other Asian markets and South America. The new Trailblazer is based on a truck architecture so unlike many modern popular SUVs in the US (Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee), the Trailblazer will have a body-on-frame construction as opposed to unibody.”

GM added: “Many off-roading and general SUV enthusiasts in the US have been grumbling about the trendy shift to unibody so reintroducing the Chevy Trailblazer in the US market could help satisfy those Americans who want a truck-based SUV. Unfortunately, there is no real indication as to how long it could be before the Chevy Trailblazer is introduced to the US market.”
