Nissan Motor is recalling 188,302 SUVs globally due to faulty brake control software.

In the US, the company is recalling 151,695 2013 and 2014 Pathfinders plus 2014 QX60 SUVs and 2013 Infiniti JX35s. Affected vehicles are also in China, Russia, Mexico and Canada but numbers there are relatively low.

The carmaker told Reuters that software settings in the antilock braking system might result in the vehicle taking longer to stop than drivers expect on rough or uneven roads, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will reprogramme the antilock braking system. The carmaker no accidents or injuries related to the problem had yet been reported.
