Exported Rogue (primarily a North American model similar to the UK-built Qashqai crossover), Teana and Tiida [aka Versa] models boosted Japanese production 50.2% to to 129,103 units.
Production outside Japan rose 14.4% to 186,872 units, again a record for the month.
US production of the Maxima begun at the end of June and ongoing Altima output contributed to a production increase of 6% to 44,942 units.
Mexico output – a key source for US sales – rose 12.5% to 33,179 units.

By GlobalDataUK production rose 13.4% to 35,516 units but, reflecting auto sales malaise in the country, Spanish production fell 3.4% to 19,846 units.
Production in what Nissan terms ‘general overseas markets’ (GOM) grew 35.1% year-on-year to 53,389 units mainly due to demand for the Teana (introduced in June) and Qashqai/Dualis (launched in March as the Xiaoke) in China, and the X-trail (introduced in July) in Indonesia.
Nissan’s vehicle registrations in Japan last month rose 5.9% year on year to 50,091 units, boosted by the new Teana and X-trail. Its share of domestic market registrations was up 0.1 percentage points year-on-year to 16.6%.
Domestic sales of mini-vehicles were down 2.4% from the previous year to 11,739 units.
Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 61,830 units in Japan, up 4.2% year-on-year. Market share was up 0.1 percentage points year-on-year to 13.6%.
Global sales increased 11.5% to 331,058 units.
US sales rose 8.5% to 95,319 units due to strong sales of the Rogue and Versa.
Europe sales rose 10.5% to 53,162 units following increased sales of the Qashqai, X-trail and Tiida (sold only in some markets).
Sales in the GOM regions were up 21.0% to 95,523 units.
Exports in July increased 84.2% to 83,429 units.
Shipments to North America rose 119.6% to 31,271 units, surprisingly due to increased demand for the Rogue and Murano SUVs.
Exports to Europe grew 87.1% to 14,759 units on the as the X-trail and Teana sold strongly in Russia.
Exports to other regions rose 61.5% to 37,399 units.
