A Car Connection report on the move noted that the plant had built A-class vehicles until last year and currently assembles C-class sedans for the US, though that will be phased out this year.


TCC said the sports coupé will be assembled from CKD kits, starting in first quarter of 2007, with local content rising to 35%.


DaimlerChrysler will continue to sell the hatchback model in some markets after the redesigned C-class model line is launched at the Geneva motor show next year, The Car Connection said.
