Jacobs Engineering Group has won a contract from Honda R&D to design and construct an automotive wind tunnel in Japan to test full-scale vehicles.
The test programmes in the new tunnel will be dedicated to vehicle development, fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
Jacobs president and CEO Craig Martin said: “This contract provides an excellent opportunity to advance our support of the automotive industry and we look forward to delivering a wind tunnel dedicated to an OEM. We have worked closely with Honda R&D to define their testing requirements and performance specifications for their new wind tunnel.”
Jacobs, with 46,000 employees and revenues of $US8bn, provides technical, professional, and construction services globally.
