The Rico Auto Industries strike will next week force the closure next week of a GM SUV assembly plant in Delta Township, Michigan, and one of two shifts at a Warren, Michigan, transmission factory, the source added.
GM spokeswoman Kim Carpenter told Bloomberg full production would resume on 9 November but did not detail the parts involved.
Some Rico workers in India have walked out demanding the reinstatement of 16 colleagues suspended for “various acts of misconduct,” Rico officials told the news agency.
Rico manufactures fuel systems, cylinder head covers, clutch assemblies and brake discs.
