Hyundai Motor has no plans to build another plant in the US but will launch its new Azera there in the second half, senior executives have said.

Chief executive Steve Yang, speaking at the Grandeur media launch, told Reuters his firm had no plan to build a new plant in the United States on top of existing facilities in Alabama and the Kia plant in Georgia.

Alabama, which started with the Sonata and later added the Santa Fe, has annual production capacity of 300,000 units.

Meanwhile, vice-president Kim Sung-han said Hyundai planned to launch a new version of its Azera large-sized sedan in the United States in the second half. There was no plan to build it in the US, however.
