LaNeve, 50, starts his new job on 26 October and will oversee all of the insurer’s marketing initiatives, including brand stewardship, marketing and brand strategy and advertising, reporting to chairman and chief executive Thomas Wilson, Dow Jones reported.
GM last week said LaNeve would leave this Thursday (15 October) for a position in another industry. He headed sales and marketing until GM chief executive Fritz Henderson restructured the management team and put former product head Bob Lutz in charge of marketing, the news agency noted.
A day later, GM named Buick-GMC general manager Susan Docherty to replace LaNeve from 16 October as the automaker’s vice president of US sales.
