General Motors global sales last year fell 10.6% year on year to 7.48m units.
GM became the fourth largest automaker in terms of sales volume after Nissan Motor, Renault and Daimler announced a cross-sharing agreement on Wednesday.
The combined global sales of the three automakers in 2009 totaled about 7.64m units, trailing the 8.62m units sold by the Volkswagen-Suzuki alliance and the 7.81m sold by Toyota Motor, which inlcudes minicar specialist Daihatsu Motor truckmaker Hino Motors, Kyodo News reported.
