The new Tahoe SUV, launched in January has been selling well and according to Reuters this has encouraged GM to bring forward the production launch of the Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon SL, built on the same platform as the Tahoe, by several weeks.
In the first two months of the year Tahoe sales were up 50%.
Production of Suburbans starts net week in Silao, Mexico.
At Arlington, Texas, production of the Yukon and Yukon SL is several thousand vehicles ahead of an earlier production schedule.
