Gestamp is investing some USD100m to reopen an automotive stamping facility in South Charleston, West Virginia.
Local media report that the investment will eventually create an estimated 700 jobs.
The South Charleston stamping plant will be a primary supplier for Honda and Ford, said John Craig, president of Gestamp North America, speaking to the Charleston Daily Mail.
Craig also told the newspaper that Gestamp will be using the new facility to pursue opportunities with a range of OEMs including BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Honda, General Motors, Toyota and Ford.
Gestamp will introduce a new technology called press hardening in South Charleston, Craig said.
