Gentex Corporation is to ship auto-dimming interior rearview mirrors with its Rear Camera Display (RCD) feature for the 2010 Toyota 4Runner.

The mid-size sport utility vehicle with the RCD feature is available in North America.

“Toyota has offered a Gentex auto-dimming interior mirror on the 4Runner for many years. The addition of the RCD mirror expands this safety feature on the Toyota lineup,” said Gentex senior vice president Enoch Jen.

“The mirror is a preferred and intuitive location to display rear camera images because it allows the driver to view the display and the reflected scene simultaneously. We are pleased that Toyota continues to offer this technology on an increasing number of vehicle models.”
