“Law enforcement needs this effort to be successful, and we will make it so,” stated Queen. “This is about American jobs and national security – and it is about being part of what will certainly be a great American success story. I served my country prior as a United States Marine and I am honoured to have this unique opportunity to once again serve our country in the capacity as a board member of Carbon Motors.”

The Connersville, Indiana-based firm is due to launch its first model, the E7, in July 2013. In March 2010, Carbon Motors inked a deal with BMW Group for the supply of 240,000 six-cylinder turbodiesel engines, as well as cooling and exhaust gas systems and six-speed automatic transmissions for the E7. The firm said at the time of the BMW deal announcement that it had been holding over 12,000 orders for the vehicle since mid-2009.
