Ford will keep just two of the 23 plants it took back from Visteon last year as part of its bailout of the ailing supplier, reported Reuters. The remainder will be closed or sold.
The facilities are grouped under the umbrella subsidiary Automotive Components Holdings and represent “a good business value proposition,” according to Ford’s chief operating officer for the Americas, Anne Stevens. She was speaking to Reuters at a Ford media event.
The automaker expects to take a few years to sell the facilities, and has reportedly had lots of interest from potential buyers.
