Ford is moving Jeff Wood from his current role as director of manufacturing for North America vehicle assembly operations to vice president of manufacturing, Ford of Europe, effective 1 June.
The automaker last August named Barb Samardzich, former head of global product programmes, to head product development in Europe, replacing Frank Davis who took up a new role in North America.

Wood replaces Mike Flewitt who has left the automaker “to pursue other career interests”, Ford said in a statement.
Gary Johnson, VP of manufacturing for Asia Pacific and Africa, is now a company officer as is Kumar Galhotra, VP of product development for the region.
Marin Burela, president of Chang An Ford Mazda, has been elected a company officer.
Wood will report to Ford Europe chairman and CEO Stephen Odell and John Fleming, head of global manufacturing and labour affairs.
He joined Ford in 1988 as a plant engineering supervisor at the Norfolk assembly plant and has worked in quality and truck making posts as well as electronics development and as vehicle line director for D platform vehicles.
