Ford is delaying the launch of its redesigned F-Series Super Duty pickup truck until January 2007, which means it will be launched as a 2008 model year vehicle, instead of a 20007 model-year, according to Reuters.

The delay of several months has been caused by quality problems associated with the six-litre [‘Powerstroke’ diesel] engine supplied by Navistar.
The engine is in about 70% of Super Duty trucks and has caused substantial warranty costs, the news agency said.
A Navistar spokesperson reportedly said he was unaware of any quality problem, although the company is developing a new diesel engine for the pickup that will meet new emission standards.
The F-Series Super Duty truck line is manufactured at Ford’s 4.6m square foot Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, described by the automaker as the largest truck plant in the world.
