Ford and Ferrari have settled their spat over the naming of the Italian company’s Formula One racing car – just in case anyone confuses it with a pick-up truck.
The US carmaker launched a lawsuit in which it accused Ferrari of infringing its trademark for the popular F-150 truck with the F150 racing car.

Ford has dropped the case, according to a filing with the US district court in Detroit, with Ferrari agreeing for a second time to tweak the name of the race car so it will now be called Ferrari 150 Italia.
It was originally called the F150 to celebrate this year’s festivities for 150 years of Italian unity.
After Ford first filed the lawsuit last month, the Italians announced that the full name of the car – Ferrari F150th Italia – would now be used.
Ford was still unhappy, saying the new name “still contained F and 150,” and that the change was unacceptable.
