Faurecia, North America’s sixth-largest automotive supplier, has inaugurated its new automotive seating plant in Wentzville, Missouri.

Faurecia spent US$13m on the factory to support its GM business. The plant started production in September and employs 180 people.

It produces seats for GM’s Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon truck lines on two shifts.

The 81,844 sq ft plant is the 47th Faurecia production site in North America. The supplier employs about 20,000 in the US, Mexico and Canada.
