Faurecia has announced its 38th North American plant, a seating factory in Simpsonville, Kentucky.

Production starts in February, 2016, employing 410 people.

Existing Faurecia plants make interior systems and emissions control technologies in Louisville. The supplier said in a statement the new factory “expands Faurecia’s company-wide commitment to this region”.

Nik Endrud, president of Faurecia Automotive Seating, said the metro-Louisville area offers the supplier the right skills to meet customer needs.

“We continue to be very pleased by the experience and skill levels of the workforce in Simpsonville and the greater Louisville area,” said Endrud. “I’m confident that this team will allow us to continue to grow in North America and strengthen our presence in the region.”

Louisville is home to a Ford assembly plant.
