Denso says it is expanding its Silicon Valley, California, office to further support start-up companies and advanced research and development activities in multiple areas of technological innovation.
Denso plans to grow its ‘think tank’ to 20 people, which is around three times the current personnel during the next three years.

Key focus areas will be cyber security, big data and autonomous driving.
“In North America, 700 Denso employees are developing technologies related to environment and safety mainly in the technical centre located in Southfield, Michigan,” said Denso EVP R&D, Masahiko Miyaki.
“The expansion of Silicon Valley office will strengthen our research and development ability, not only North America, but worldwide.”
