Engine maker Cummins says it will recruit 600 white-collar workers in order to meet anticipated business growth according to Dow Jones.
The newswire says some of the new posts will be in engineering, information technology and human resources.

“Our success in global markets over the past few years allowed us to remain strong during the recent economic downturn and has positioned the company for a period of accelerated growth,” chief financial officer Tom Linebarger is quoted as saying in a written statement.
The 600 employees are expected to be in place by the middle of 2013, with a new office building slated for completion by late next year.
Cummins estimates its workforce in downtown Columbus will reach 3,000 people by 2013, adds Dow Jones, three times more than the staff head count in 2008.
Cummins manufacturers engines used in commercial trucks and a variety of commercial and industrial applications, including oil and gas drilling and electric power generation.
