Constellium has opened its expanded plant in Van Buren, Michigan, customising automotive structures.
The 210,000 square foot expansion project has doubled plant manufacturing capacity for a total US$40m investment.
“Constellium is making extensive investments across the United States both in automotive structural parts and Body-in-White,” said Constellium CEO, Pierre Vareille.
“Through the newly expanded Van Buren plant we are now well-positioned to take full advantage of the growing automotive demand for aluminium structures in North America.”
For his part, Constellium Automotive Structures and Industry business unit president, Paul Warton said: “Van Buren is an ideal location.
“Its proximity to the automotive industry in Detroit enables us to work closely with our OEM customers and suppliers to ensure our products meet customised, precise specifications and performance expectations.”
