Chrysler’s Jeep brand set a new all-time global sales record for the second consecutive year in 2013, delivering 731,565 vehicles worldwide, up from 701,626 in 2012.
Brand president and CEA Mike Manley said: “Jeep vehicles have now recorded sales increases both globally and in the US market for four consecutive years, with back to back global sales records.

“We are especially pleased with the performance of Jeep Cherokee which sold more than 25,000 units in its first two months in the showrooms. We achieved this record while being out of the world’s largest SUV segment for three quarters of the year.
“With a full lineup of capable, efficient SUVs – and with Cherokee arriving in Jeep showrooms across the globe – we expect to continue our sales momentum in 2014.”
Jeep vehicle sales increased 4% worldwide last year versus 2012, and 3% in the US. Sales rose 26% in the Asia-Pacific region in 2013 and China sales grew 29%.
Sales were led by the Grand Cherokee (255,005 global; 174,275 US), followed by Wrangler (210,715 global; 155,502 US), Compass (121,626 global; 52,993 US), Patriot (103,577 global; 75,797 US) and Cherokee (31,330 global; 25,786 US).
