Chrysler Group is voluntarily recalling approximately 437,000 SUVs globally to relocate an electrical connection.

The action follows an investigation by the automake after it was advised of three cases in which a wiring harness for a power door mirror exhibited signs of overheating. The cases appeared to be localised in Canada and related to winter driving conditions. The company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

Chrysler later determined an electrical connector that supplies power to the mirror may be subject to moisture exposure. The power feed will be shifted to an alternate source and the existing connection will be equipped with a protective shield.

Affected are Jeep Wrangler SUVs from model years 2011-2013. Approximately 313,236 units are in the US; 39,627 are in Canada; 5,685 in Mexico and 78,369 units were exported outside the NAFTA region.

All affected customers will be notified and dealers will modify the wiring free of charge.
