“Trevor has led a distinguished automotive design career,” said Chrysler LLC chairman and CEO Robert  Nardelli. “He played a key leadership role in the design of award-winning vehicles such as the new Dodge Challenger, Chrysler 300C, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Viper, Dodge Ram and the Plymouth Prowler.”

Creed joined Chrysler from Ford in 1985 as head of interior design.

Chrysler also announced a structural change under which the design office now reports to product development head Frank Klegon to “improve efficiency and enhance operations”.

Gilles, newly named to succeed Creed as vice president – design, joined Chrysler in 1992 and is credited with styling the successful 300C line launched in 2004. He most recently headed Jeep, truck and advance interior design.

Chrysler also named Andreas Schell to head electrical and electronics engineering design, development, quality and ‘voice of the customer’ work. He succeeds William (Bill) Mattingly, who left Chrysler last month.

Schell joined Daimler-Benz in 1996 as a research engineer and was most recently Chrysler LLC’s director in charge of the recovery and transformation plan and strategy.
