Chrysler Group has named Robert Liberatore as a temporary advisor on external affairs to CEO Sergio Marchionne.
Liberatore joined Chrysler Corporation in 1985 after working on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for 10 years, including four years as staff director for senator Robert Byrd.

He was once vice president of Washington affairs for Chrysler and retired – as group vice president of global external affairs and public policy – from DaimlerChrysler in 2007.
Dow Jones said Liberatore’s appointment came after Chrysler’s former head of external affairs, John Bozzella, resigned effective 31 December, 2009. The company is looking for a permanent replacement, a Chrysler spokeswoman said.
