The agreement establishes a solid foundation for both associations to work together in support of their members’ needs for standardized processes in quality, materials management, logistics and e-commerce, the two parties said.

“AIAG is resolute in working cooperatively with the Chinese automotive industry to advance the development of standard business processes in order to create collective value throughout the global automotive supply chain,” said AIAG executive director Scot Sharland said.

“In this effort, we are excited to partner with SAE of China, one of the most prominent automotive associations in the region, and gain insight into their advancements in engineering and technology.”

The MoU will initially focus on channels of communications for sharing information between AIAG and SAE of China.

“We are pleased that AIAG, a leader in streamlining processes in North America, is lending its expertise in the standardisation of business practices to help develop a robust China automotive supply chain,” said SAE of China executive vice president and secretary general Fu Yuwu.
“Through the adoption of standards and guidelines, we expect that the China automotive industry will be able to improve and sustain quality, reliability and competitiveness.”
