BorgWarner is to supply transmission components, including friction plates and roller one-way clutches, for Hyundai’s new 8-speed automatic rear-wheel drive transmission.
Designed and assembled by Hyundai Powertech, the company’s performance and R&D group, the new high-performance transmission features a multi-step design with a wide gear span.

The transmission will drive the recently-launched 4.6L Hyundai Equus, Hyundai Genesis and Kia Mohave, as well as the 3.8L Hyundai Genesis for the domestic Korean market.

BorgWarner friction systems provide friction and efficiency characteristics for a wide range of clutch applications, including high-energy applications.
The company provides one-way clutch systems for transmission positions not requiring a wet friction clutch.
