BMW expects to end 2013 with record global sales, driven in particular by strong growth in the US and China.
The group sold 1.8m vehicles last year and sales chief Ian Robertson said sales in China were up 20%, double the forecast of 10%, while sales in South Korea were heading for 30,000, well ahead of the expected 10,000 units.

Robertson said he expected 2013 to be another record year for US sales, beating last year’s total of 347,600. BMW would still be second to Mercedes-Benz whose sales are running about 5,000 ahead for the first 10 months of the year.
Although BMW would like to be top, it wasn’t “the be-all and end-all, and not at all costs,” he added in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
