Volkswagen-owned, Auburn Hills, Michigan-based Bentley Motors has announced it would relocate its North American corporate headquarters to Boston, Massachusetts, as part of a strategic realignment of its regional operations.

VW is also moving its US headquarters from Michigan to the east coast.


The move, coupled with a realignment of Bentley’s North American structure, will provide an an even sharper focus on its key market and customers and increased cooperation with its central operations in Crewe, England, the luxury automaker said.


Bentley sales and marketing head Stuart McCullough said: “The US is our biggest market by a considerable margin and we are making these changes now to ensure our long-term viability and success in North America.


“This move will allow Bentley to stake out its future in a concerted and defined manner, led by our new leadership team of Geoff Dowding and Christophe Georges.”


The headquarters relocation is expected to be completed by summer 2008 with Bentley continuing to leverage a number of key services from Volkswagen of America following both brands’ moves.
