The second major expansion of the Troy location in three years, the new building will be constructed on a 2.3-acre site that is adjacent to climate control specialist’s current headquarters campus. When completed in early 2007, the building will house nearly 270 employees who are now working in rented facilities in the area. This will allow for further engineering and programme-management job growth over the next several years.
The new facility will include offices, conference centre and an additional testing lab area.
“The groundbreaking underlines our commitment to providing our North American-based customers with local engineering support,” said Behr America president and CEO Frank Mueller.
“Since 2002, we have experienced steady growth with an increase in our headquarters and technical staff from 100 to nearly 550 employees.”
