He succeeds Gerry Keaney who has been promoted to vice president, sales, at Volvo Car Corporation.
Having joined Volvo in 1985, from Renault UK, as the business development manager for the Scottish dealer network, Fife-born Reid, 48, took on further field roles before being appointed managing director of Volvo’s jointly owned finance company in 1994.
In 1996 he launched Volvo Car Finance before, in 1997, also assuming the role of regional director, overseeing Volvo’s finance company operations in the Netherlands and Belgium, as well as in the UK.
In 1999 Reid rejoined the UK sales company as director of sales & dealer operations.
