The protest at Vauxhall’s Luton car plant has ended peacefully, according to media reports.


Around 350 workers had gathered outside the company’s management headquarters demanding to speak to Nick Reilly, the company’s chief executive. They were angered by the company’s decision to axe 2,200 jobs.

Mr Reilly went outside and held a 15 minute question and answer session with the workers and they then dispersed.


A Bedfordshire Police spokeswoman said six officers attended to keep an eye on the demonstration, which was entirely peaceful and had now ended. There were no arrests.
