Trade newspaper Motor Trader has named Kia Motors (UK) its 2004 franchise of the year in recognition of its dramatic growth and development in the UK new car market.

At the award ceremony, Kia was described as a “must-have” franchise for the UK’s car dealers.


The 10-strong judging panel was unanimous in selecting Kia, saying it had excelled in terms of producing new models, successfully marketing them and building close relationships with its dealer network.


Motor Trader editor Curtis Hutchinson said: “Kia has made such a dramatic change – not just in terms of product but in all aspects of the business from marketing to network development. This has put Kia on an increasing number of consumers’ shopping lists and it has become a must-have franchise for dealers.”
