Tata Motors’ Jaguar Land Rover has said it was [still] studying the possibility of opening a manufacturing plant in Brazil.
“A detailed feasibility study is under way to consider Brazil as a possible future location for a Jaguar Land Rover automotive facility,” the company said in a statement sent to Reuters, adding that “no final decisions have been made.”

The company added it has ambitious plans to expand its manufacturing footprint and increase production in markets outside of Britain, particularly in China and Brazil.
Earlier, Brazilian newspaper O Estado de S.Paulo reported Land Rover was looking to spend around GBP270m (US$431.72 million) on a facility to build SUVs in Rio de Janeiro state.
Last month, there were reports the automaker was advertising for staff for the plant which is expected to begin with assembly of Land Rovers shipped as CKD kits.
