Smartnav incorporates Trafficmaster’s real time traffic information to calculate routes around traffic jams.
The Seat package also includes a ‘free’ 12-month subscription to GPS based stolen vehicle tracking service RAC Trackstar, and can optionally add Touchscreen – a small screen that provides visual instructions to complement the step-by-step verbal directions. Customers can also add the integrated speed camera alert system Safe Speed as an additional option.
Smartnav uses up-to-date mapping stored on Trafficmaster’s central computers and is usually accessed through live operators who can provide a ‘concierge’ service as well, assisting with such details as locating nearby restaurants or service stations.
