Rover has announced that a new model – the Rover 75 Estate – will expand the 75 range commencing production in mid 2001.

Transfer of the Rover 75 Saloon from Oxford to Birmingham production facility will be complete by the end of September 2000. This results in all Rover and MG cars now being built in a single plant at Longbridge.

The Estate will offer similar specification to the Saloon – four engines (1.8-litre, 2.0-litre V6 & 2.5-litre V6 petrol and 2.0-litre CDT), manual or automatic transmission and an extensive range of specifications and options.

Key features include a one-piece tailgate, under floor stowage, integrated loadspace cover and luggage retention nets, lashing hooks and 60:40 split folding rear seats.
