Output of engines by UK automakers fell 12.6% year on year to 202,132 in November “as impact of retooling for new models continued”, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). 

Year to date, output was down 7.0% to 2,235,331 units.

“Recent investments into UK engine manufacturing mean long term expectations are positive for industry,” the SMMT said in a statement.
